Exchange of Knowledge on Bioenergy

The main aim of the pellet day in Italy was the exchange of know-how between the two involved regions Emilia-Romagna and South-Tyrol, since the latter is much more experienced in the field of bioenergy. The idea was to open biomass sites in South Tyrol to the local public and to invite stakeholders from the region Emilia Romagna in order to learn from these best practice examples. Therefore, a guided tour to five sites had been organised. The activities were a great success as two major stakeholders were highly impressed and expressed the intention of implementing a district heating project in their municipalities. Moreover, other participants declared to invest in biomass energy on a private basis in the future.
